Marvel's Avengers now includes microtransactions for in-game boosts, contradicting a pre-launch pledge to only sell optional cosmetic content.

The addition of the new boost items, which can be accustomed temporarily increase the amount of XP or resources you receive from additive in-stake activities, was initially reported by VGC. Giving players the option to buy temporary in-game boons like these is common for games with microtransactions, so it isn't unusual to see on its own.

Notwithstandin, the summation runs counterpunch to assurances that the stake will only e'er sell aesthetic content, as declared in this Marvel's Avengers blog mail from Noble 2020 that arranged out how gear and cosmetics would work: "We've besides sworn that content purchasable with real money in Marvel's Avengers will be aesthetic-only additions, which will ensure we can keep the spunky fresh for years to come. The press against Target is only just beginning, there is overmuch much story and many more heroes on the horizon."

You could argue that the boosts aren't really "depicted object" themselves, but IT even runs counter to previous developer pledges that the game would never own "pay out-to-get ahead scenarios," as VGC points out. The addition of boosts follows an earlier change to Wonder's Avengers which made equalisation dormy characters require Thomas More XP starting in Butt against, with the developers saying the in the first place progression system "LED to pacing issues." It's entirely possible that these two changes to the game are unrelated, but it's hush a pretty bad look.

Guileless Enix has otherwise honored its commitment to keep releasing new heroes, skills, and gear for disembarrass. That includes the addition of Black Panther in August and the impending arrival of Wanderer-Man later this yr for PS4 and PS5 players.

Meanwhile, it looks like Wonder Comics and Marvel Studios are starting to align their stars with Multiversal Avengers .
